Safir Hotel Cairo acquired the Green Star Award, which represents an International standard for excellence in the field of the environmental responsibility and sustainable operations as well as reflects the hotel's commitment to implement a set of standards which the Green Star program certified and recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), managed by the Egyptian Hotel Association and under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism.

Green Star Certificate   aims to promote public awareness and encourage positive environmental behavior changes among the guests, associates, suppliers, and encourage  the use of the  new concepts and applications which are environmentally friendly and sustainable operations  within the framework of the hotel operations.

The evaluation process includes many points  and the most important are the rationalization of water and energy consumption,  implementing the application of waste management systems and internal environment, eco-friendly activities, in addition to  associates involvement and guests awareness.
